
Michael Hempseed
Consultant/Facilitator, Canterbury
Through research-based workshops and presentations delivered all over New Zealand, Michael assists organisations with understanding and preventing mental illness and suicide in the workplace, reducing excessive stress, and helping people to get better sleep. He has trained everyone from army medics to social workers, health and prison staff.
Michael is also the author of Being A True Hero: Understanding and Preventing Suicide in Your Community - a book being used by the New Zealand Police, Fire and Emergency NZ, GPs, Counsellors as well as many parents and teachers.
Funny, full of enthusiasm and taking a genuine interest in people are all qualities that make Michael a captivating speaker. Michael loves to travel, having visited over 34 countries, including Cambodia, Morocco, China, India, Brazil and many others. In addition to this he hosts a weekly radio show called Lighthouse of Hope.
Michael has a particular interest in how poor sleep is related to the development of mental illness, suicide and a cause of many workplace accidents and bullying.
