These are challenging times and we all play a part in making this world a kinder place to work and live. Withdrawing or sharing feelings in an inappropriate way can negatively impact relationships. 

Emotional Intelligence is a set of emotional and social skills which include the ability to recognise and manage your own emotions and those of others. Part of having high emotional intelligence is to use that emotional information to more effectively guide your thinking and behaviour, to better cope with challenge, and to express emotions in a way that builds and maintains healthy relationships. 

This masterclass focuses on the first critical skill of understanding and expressing one’s own emotions in an appropriate and effective way manner during challenging or stressful times. 

Learning Outcomes

Your participation in this masterclass will help you to:

  • identify your own emotions and identify why they occur
  • understand how those emotions impact your thoughts and actions
  • apply skills to communicate emotions to other people in a constructive and acceptable way.

Content

  • Increasing self-awareness about one’s feelings and identifying the causes
  • Considering activators and triggers of feelings and the link to inappropriate behaviours
  • Identifying personal ways to communicate feelings to minimise misunderstanding or create a negative reaction in others
