Betsy is an organisational consultant and facilitator who specialises in mindfulness training and coaching for the general public and for organisations. Her emphasis is on sharing mindfulness practices that cultivate focus and self-awareness, develop resilience and wellbeing, and enhance relationships. She is registered to deliver the internationally recognised Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme, having trained through the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australia and New Zealand (MTIA).
Betsy’s approach is informed by on-going advances in neuroscience, the field of positive psychology, and strengths-based methodologies such as Appreciative Inquiry. She combines this knowledge with her experience of facilitating leadership development, team building and strategic planning workshops, to offer training that engages and inspires participants to bring out the best in themselves and others.
Betsy has over 15 years of experience working in a consulting capacity with organisations in a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, government, not-for-profit, NGO and private organisations in New Zealand and the United States. She is valued for her ability to authentically connect with clients and staff with her open, warm and down-to-earth manner.
Her early career was based in the United States, and included roles in management consulting and strategic planning with companies in the health industry. Upon her return to New Zealand in 2005, her on-going interest in the critical human element of organisations led her to focus more in the field of organisational development, where she has practised since.
