Dr Michelle Shields

It is commonly said that one of the most important attributes of successful leadership is self-awareness. We need to know ourselves before we can credibly lead others. We need to understand how the way we behave impacts on the behaviour of people we are trying to influence and lead in the workplace. It is only then that we can help ourselves, our teams and our organisations to achieve optimal results. It is only than that we can truly lead authentically, naturally and with confidence.

In this workshop you will examine your leadership style through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which you complete online before the workshop. The report provides insight into how you are likely to communicate, your preferred leadership style related to change and team management, and blind-spots to be aware of during times of stress. Self-awareness, when combined with acting purposefully and being mindful of the situation and people around you, is a powerful foundation for leadership development that continues throughout your leadership career - from leadership of yourself through to visionary leadership of organisations and communities.

We will particularly consider how to use differences to achieve highly dynamic and achievement-oriented work teams through leadership. You will leave the workshop with a draft action plan for your leadership development, one that will enable you to lead with self-awareness, self-confidence and authenticity.
