Description

Our equity, diversity and inclusion strategies and approaches in our teams and organisations have not delivered on the outcomes that diversity has long promised. It appears that diversity management in organisations is more complex than originally understood.

Our cultural influences go beyond visible diversity characteristics of gender, ethnicity, age and accessibility, to include hidden dimensions of diversity such as values, worldviews and lived experiences within ourselves and others. This requires us to take a deeper dive into understanding the dynamic nature of culture, develop our perception management and self-management to navigate this complexity. This approach develops your intercultural agility to cultivate the third space/culture – where diverse perspectives, values and worldviews can be valued and unleashed for productivity, creativity and innovation.

In order for organisations to be sustainable with a hyper-diverse workforce, it requires everyone (especially leaders) to develop their intercultural agility, which is the ability to create win-win solutions by anticipating, correctly interpreting and adjusting to the culturally defined behaviours of others. This capability is critical in all aspects of organisational development from leadership, marketing, HR, coaching, and change management.
