Description

This masterclass will provide you with an introduction to the skills needed to support your own (or your organisation’s) wellbeing through simple skills and the application of one of two optional wellbeing models (we will discuss which of the models is appropriate for you when we customise the masterclass for you):

Te Whare Tapa Whā - a Māori model of wellbeing with four domains - Tinana/physical health, Wairua/spirituality, Hinengaro/mental health and Whānau/social family

The Five Ways to Wellbeing - Connect, Give, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Be Active

We will look at our own stress by firstly normalising stress and worries, then looking at the biology of stress and the stress bell curve. We will look at stress by revealing the physical, behavioural and psychological early warning signs of which we must be mindful. Common triggers such as financial worries, work deadlines and relationships will be examined, how we can learn skills to identify when we can see them occurring, and ways to help to unstress, including sensory modulation, mindfulness and breathing.
