ODI HPWI Programme 2015/16 Delivers Results

ODI's High Performance Work Initiative (HPWI) programme was Callaghan Innovation co-funded and worked with four client organisations over the 15-month period to December 2016. The programme provided workshop-based diagnostics across the 10 Levers for High Performance Work; participative events at which SMT and others from client organisations discussed and rated their organisations against global good practices for each Lever.

Following diagnosis, clients selected two priority domains in which consultant-led initiatives that both secured SMT and wider engagement and improved identified tools or processes were carried out.

Each of the consultancies has been documented as a case study and is available to the wider community of interest.

ODI Director, Kyran Newell, observes that "although the programme period was too short to measure improved engagement or processes, qualitative information direct from clients provides indicators that this was so; consequently the programme can be judged successful".

Longer term client benefits will flow as the process improvements are fully implemented and wider employee participation in related new initiatives continues. As part of ODI's HPWI programme committment, clients will be followed up 90 and 180 days after programme completion to check that progress is still being made.
